CNN student news
this was interesting, it's modern enough to be interesting to students in high school, and possibly even middle school, while taking them through todays news, allowing them to catch up with what's going on in the world.
Brain Flips
this is a site that is useful in creating flashcards, and is able to be used equally by teachers and students to remember terminology. it was fun creating a small set of flashcards
thinkfinity
another virtual toolbox, thinkfinity has many ways to deepen a child's understanding, and has tools for teachers to better organize their thoughts. i found a game that ties many concepts of energy, allowing the child to build contraptions suitable to perform many mundane tasks
readwritethink
this is a series of tools, used to help teachers by providing a web based toolbox, i used the biobox, and found it neat to label my life on six sides. it;s a great way for students to learn more about each other.
puzzlemaker
this is another great resource for any teacher, allowing almost any word based puzzle one can think of. i chose to make a crossword puzzle, and a word find puzzle, each of which was based on the you-tube brothers Hank, and John Green. i had fun doing this, and so will any teacher who wants to make a personalized challenge for their students.
Wordle
this tool is fun for creating a randomly assorted clouds based on any word bank you can think of. a handy and fun way that students can review vocabulary words.
